Liverpool 4 Chelsea 1 ( on penalties )
Liverpool beat Chelsea on penalties to advance to the finals of the Champions League.
Daniel Agger's equalised on the 22 minute to give Liverpool an aggregate score 1-1.
The closing minutes of the half saw no more chances at either end, with the game still a stifling midfield battle.
After a tense start to the extra-time period, Liverpool thought they had gained a two-goal lead when Alonso's 25-yard shot was parried by Cech and Kuyt was on hand to blast the rebound home. But his celebrations soon turned to despair when the strike was ruled out by a linesman's flag after the Dutchman was narrowly adjudged to be offside.
It came down to a penalty shoot-out, and Liverpool romped home.
