It been reported in The Daily Mirror says that 'Roman Abramovich is ready to defy the wrath of Chelsea fans and hand Avram Grant a £100million summer spending kitty', The Times claims it has learnt that the club is preparing for a mass clear-out of players.
Up to ten players could leave, although whether the first-team coach will be around to undertake the process is unclear.
Among the players expected to be put up for sale are Andriy Shevchenko, Claudio Pizarro, Steve Sidwell and Tal Ben-Haim. The futures of Florent Malouda, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Carlo Cudicini and Juliano Belletti are described as 'uncertain', while Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard and Wayne Bridge are filed under 'unsettled'.
The problem for Chelsea, however, could be finding clubs crazy enough to match the wages these players are currently enjoying at Stamford Bridge.
