Bayern may agree Hargreaves sale

Bayern Munich president Franz Beckenbauer has admitted England midfielder Owen Hargreaves could be sold to Manchester United this summer.

The Bundesliga giants have so far refused to grant the 26-year-old's wish to leave for Old Trafford.

But Beckenbauer, speaking on German television, said: "If it is right there is an offer of 25-30m euros (£17-20m), then I would seriously consider it.

"I think the board also think this way to satisfy the needs of the player."

Hargreaves has been a long-standing United target and the player has expressed a desire to play in England.

So far, Bayern have refused to deal with the Premiership leaders and suggested Hargreaves should honour the new four-year contract he signed last summer.

But a United bid of up to £20m could be enough to get their man this summer.

Hargreaves said: "I will sit down with Bayern and we will discuss how my future looks."

REAL TO BID £54m FOR RONALDO

Real Madrid have reportedly agreed to offer Man. United £54m for Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

The Portuguese winger has been in dazzling form this season and is currently widely regarded as the best player in the world. However, his spellbinding performances, both in the Premiership and Champions League, have also made him the hottest property in world football and Man. United face an arduous fight to retain his services beyond the current campaign.

Having stalled on extending his Old Trafford contract, Ronaldo has been repeatedly linked with a move to the Bernabéu and it is understood that the Spanish giants have made him their number one target this summer.

According to The Guardian, 'Real Madrid have stepped up their attempt to sign by meeting his agent and agreeing a course of action that directors at the Santiago believe will end with the Portugal winger becoming their latest galáctico.

'Franco Baldini, right-hand man to Madrid's sporting director, Predrag Mijatovic, and the man who negotiates all of the club's signings, met Jorge Mendes in London last Wednesday.

'Sources at Madrid claim that during the meeting, Baldini confirmed that Ronaldo is their No1 priority for next season and informed Mendes that they would be prepared to meet Manchester United's asking price for the winger - expected to be somewhere in the region of ¿80m (£54m).'

Any such deal would represent a new world-record transfer fee, usurping the £46m spent by Madrid in 2002 on Zinedine Zidane.

Watch the all the great goals!

'This was one of those enchanted evenings that Manchester United supporters fantasise about, when the self-styled Theatre of Dreams lived up to its name, and when one of Europe's most vaunted opponents were brutally put to the sword. Not only did Sir Alex Ferguson's pacey passion-players race to their biggest European win in 39 years, but they conjured up a sublime performance that will live even longer in the memory.

'This was one of those magical nights when it seemed every United touch turned to gold, when every move brought a goal, a remarkable hour and a half of relentless attacking when the outstanding Michael Carrick and Cristiano Ronaldo both bagged braces, and when Wayne Rooney, Alan Smith and even little Patrice Evra scored. Rome wasn't built in a day, but it took only 90 minutes to destroy Roma's defence' - Henry Winter, The Daily Telegraph.

Manchester United vs Roma ( first leg 1-2 )

He is looking at United having a tough home game. United will need to score one goal and keep the defence tight.
However he reckon that United will do the job at home.

Valencia v Chelsea (first leg 1-1)

Chelsea has not done enough at home in the first league to be comfortable. He thinks that Valencia is in a dilemma, because they can either play to a 0-0 draw and win on away goals or go for a win.
Chelsea has the strong in depth, and it will be interesting to see if they can do the job in Spain.
